has anyone ever swap a c4 tranny into a turbo coupe i have the auto matic tranny in mine and it sucks i heard the c4 is better is it
No, but I think it's a great idea! You'd get faster 1/4 times and plus you'd be able to build boost without moving... hmmm...

88 bone stock TC with 138k, 5spd, burgundy, almost all options with new U-joints, tranny Xmember, front end, FULL tune-up with select MSD products, new horizontal axle shock thingies, custom interior, white face guages. Coming soon: boost guage and air fuel ratio guage on the pillar, Gillis valve, K&N, gutted upper, knife edged lower, gutted E6, T3, and steam cleaned engine bay.
What,s involved in that swap?Where do you get a C4 that will bolt up to the 4cyl. block.Mine has the C3 and 1st gear sucks.
The Ford Pinto's used the C-4 trans. Also I think some of the early small pick-ups w/2.3 and 2.0. Not sure on this but, maybe some of the Mazda pu's?
you need a c4 from a 73 to78 pinto or fairmont or mustang II for cylinder or any c4 but youll need the bell housing from any or these cars other than that its a bolt on problem is finding the bell housing
Has anyone done a write up on this conversion? What are the options if I want to keep it as a dependable automatic that will not see alot of abuse?(just a little thrashing every now and then)
