I've owned both.. but now it's time for the tbird manual.. What have you noticed between the two??? Thanks.. Ronnie.

both suck, but sometimes are useful. try to find a ford shop manual on ebay. i got my 86 ones (5, 3 TC/SVO, 1 escort, 1 lincoln) for about $25.

Do not trust either. Verify all with things on this site.
For instance the firing order is wrong in the Haynes. It is right on this site. If you can not verify on this site using the search then ask.

well i can get the o.e shop manual from my ford dealer that i worked at.. so that may be very good. but.. i've noticed that most people say haynes is good.. but everytime you need that special pic. it's never there.. lol

They're both quite bad, but I'd give the nod to Chilton.

I would not use either one of the manuals if someone gave them to me. "THE BEST" professional mechanics manual is Mitchell. Mitchell is by far the best available. They are more expensive, but the manuals are extremely accurate, are precise in their troubleshooting, and have excellent details/diagrams. Ask any reputable mechanic.

Ditto the Mitchell manuals. They're fantastic. Thankfully they have a very comprehensive set of these at my local public library, covering just about every car made from 1979 to current years. Check out your library and you may luck out.
