Whoah!
I changed my oil with mobile 20-50 synthetic for the summer driving through the hot. This weekend I was cruising to a friends place, it was 95 out, water temp was 205 degrees and my oil pressure was 71 pounds!!
At idle it was like 50 pounds. 10-30 was more like 50 cruise and 25 idle.
I have the gauge sender tee'd into the head with the stock sender, and that one was where it always is (which is anyone's guess, right??). What kind of oil pressure do you all running 20-50 get?
I get about 33-35 idle and around 55 hot criuse, but my bearings are set loose. This is with 15W40 or 20-50
Matt... yep, mine did the same thing years ago when I switched to Mobile 1 full synthetic 20-50 (now 15-50). Notice a slight difference in the temp running cooler too.
My oil pressure was dropping below spec (40 lbs at 2000 RPM) down to 35 pounds when the engine was hot and had beeen driven for awhile. I changed to 20w50 And it stays above 40 pounds. Maybe this will let my tired old 170000 plus, mile engine stay on the road for a little longer.

Sweet thanks guys. I was paranoid I had some blockage or something.
I noticed that my cruise oil pressure was way up from normal after switching to Redline synthetic and driving a while (like back to Carlilse!). I read somewhere (may have been the Redline website or the Amsoil site) that it cleans the gunk out of the oil passages so you get better flow and pressure.

isn't 20w-50 to thick for our turbos? wont we blow seals when we romp on our cars?
I haven't developed any new leaks since I went to 20W-50. And th eold leaks didn't get any worse. You just want to use it in summer wheather and be sure to allow plenty of warm up time before romping at full bore.
i run kendall straight 70 wt, and don't have any probs, except when i don't run it i have like 5psi at idle, 20 at 3000 rpm,
yeah, so far it seems to be pretty good. It seems to run a tad (butt hair??) smoother, maybe because my hla's are getting a little more pressure?

I really love the fact that now when i'm running up around the 215 degree range I don't lose much pressure, and it takes longer to get that hot (when I forget to flip on my fan). Gas mileage seems to gone down a point or 2, but it's worth it.
