Hi everyone,

My brake system is charging continuously. I've left the battery disconnected for several hours as that has corrected the problem for me in the past. What could cause this and how much money am I looking at to replace it? Smile I am on my last leg with this car. I think retirement is imminent.
Quite possibly it is a relatively inexpensive relay that is located under the black plastic cover directly below that vacuum tree. It may be that the contacts are welded shut. there is diagnostic info in this article:

If it is the relay, here is PN info:

Thanks, Pete. I'll take a look this weekend.
Well, it does stop when I disconnect the relay. The problem now is that it won't start again with the relay connected. One of the wires appears to have had the insulation melted off about 1/2 inch of it. I will probably need to get another harness from a donor and solder it in.
Just tape it up. Pull the cover off the relay and see if the contacts are stuck shut, like Pete suggested. That pretty much has to be what is going on. The relay always has power going to it. The circuit that energizes the relay is what is switched with the key. If it doesn't shut off when the key is turned off, the relay has to be stuck.
I had the exact same problem and like pete said it was the relay. cheap and easy fix
Here too. For a while I could just give it a rap and it would be ok for a while. Sooner or later it just goes.
