Hey folks,

I was doing the desperate search thing for shocks and struts and ran up on: Tokico Illuminas supposedly for the 87 / 88 TC,P/N's EB3061 front and EE3446 rear. The URL is:
http://www.carparts.com/parts/newsearch2...search=YES

Is this correct? Or is carparts.com trying sell something for an SC or later car. I haven't been able to find a Tokico applications chart.

They don;t have them. I ordered a set from them last year to only recieve a letter 3 weeks later saying they were out of stock and were unable to determine if they would ever have them in stock. Carparts.com orders them directly from the manufacturers. I even called them and told them to updated there site but i guess they never listened.

as I asked in your other post....what would a feller have to do to put a set of 90-10's on the front of his 88 turbo coupe?
Gabriel has a part# 112SP for the front struts. I searched this board and someone had checked and AutoZone said they could special order them for $240 each. No rear shocks available, but those seem to last forever anyway.
Cammed99:

I guess you're referring to 90/10's from a 'Stang. From what I've read here, you'll have to lower if you can find the right springs. I'm no authority, so I was hoping someone else would respond to you.

JLockhart:

Yeah, that was me. I called Gabriel too. No tech data available from Gabriel, didn't know when they would be available, back-ordered. They "think" these come from Ford though.

I called Tokico about the CarParts.com listings: the EB3061 is not a valid part number now or ever. The EE3446 is valid, but was discontinued. The part numbers the girl there gave me that are supposed to fit an '87 TC are HU3689 and HE3690, high performance. I asked if she was sure this was right and she told me to call back for a technician in about an hour. Will update with more info when I get it.

I dont care if they are mustang struts or tbird struts or something off of a volkswagen, I was just wondering if there is anything out there to bolt right up
Yes 90/10 units for a 94-98 Mustang will bolt right up.whether you lower it or not.

"Finch....get the f*ck away from that fikas......that is a jizz-free fikas!"
try autozone, i bought my front struts from them a year ago.
Dennis...a.k.a.ThunderChicken
Dennis,
I looked the struts up on Autozone's site and went by to check with the store. They couldn't tell me anything so that was when I called Gabriel and found out that they were on backorder with no idea of when (or if) they would be available. They aren't built by Gabriel and the tech didn't know where the came from but thought it was Ford. Ford's OEM was Tokico. Tokico saw no movement on the orignal EB3061 fronts and EE3446 rears, discontinued the parts and destroyed all the tooling to build them. The cost to retool would be prohibitive (per my discussion with Ray at Tokico today).

Tokico recommended KYB over Gabriel or Monroe with the caveat the KYB's valving isn't as good as there's. But of all their competition, that's how their tech. leaned.

Hybridbird: Tokico also told me that the lengths of the SN95 Mustang struts were the same as the TC's, but the clevis (where the strut mounts to the spindle) was a different width. He said the Stang's is wider. Is that true? Do you have to shim?
