I am looking for opinions from you guys that are using aftermarket plug wires on a Turbo engined car.Ever since I put in a new MSD coil I keep burning up plug wires to the tune of 2 Motorcraft sets and 2 store bought sets in 3 months.Everytime I put a new set on it runs great for a week or so then it starts getting rough in the rain then shortly after.Rough anytime I get in it,rain or not.Anyone running MSD'S wires,or what brands are you having luck with.It's an 88 T/C if it makes a difference.Thanx guys!

I'm runnin the MSD 6A and Blaster coil with 8.5mm SS spiral core wires made here in BC with no probs.
I would use the stainless spiral core in any make, Accel are good apparently.
They should stand up to the hi current.

I just replaced my Motorcraft wires for the second time in 15k miles today. Whenever it starts to lose some power and stutter a little under full boost, I bring 'em back under warranty and get a new set. At least the boots never have time to get stuck to the plugs! [Image: wink.gif] Do the good aftermarket brands really last longer? I'm hesitant to pay more for a set and then have it be a pain in the ass to replace them under warranty.
Next time i do wires i'm gonna try the Ford racing 9mm. I see them in the summit catalog. Anyone tried them?

I tried the 9 mil Ford racing wires and I didn't get 10 blocks with them! I hate to talk bad about anything Ford makes,but it's the damn truth.Gary,the stainless core ones you are using,are they from MSD as well?Do you get any interference in your radio or other electronics?

No they are not MSD, they are a local company here called Aurora.
I got a static buzz in my dash (tach?) when I added the Blaster coil.
That was with Standard wires and is still there now.
Radio is clean though.

Yeah, me too it's a wierd thing...
Taylor wires work great, that's what I usually run.

I've also used Accel which did well, but I prefer Taylors. I have a set of Taylors that I ran for 2 1/2 years, that I've used a few times inbetween to find problems related to "other" brand wires, and I can still throw them on the car today and they perform good.

I have not had good luck with motorcraft brand, but I do think they work fine for a stock setup.

Whatever you do, stay away from Bosch wires, they cause major problems with missing.
