I was driving this morning and noticed the car was running hotter then normal. When I parked it the gauge was almost maxed out by not over heating yet. Went to check on my cooling fans and only had one running. The drivers side cooling fan feels seized some how. When I turn the ignition on the passenger side cooling fan spins but the drivers side does not. I guess it’s time for new fans. Does anyone know of a replacement part number or something that can be used in its place?
When my primary fan motor failed a number of years ago I got a new one from Rock Auto for around $35 or so. Replacing the motor is fairly straight forward. Only issue I had was getting the fan blade off the somewhat corroded motor shaft.
Thanks for the info and thread link. I still have yet to check connectors for voltage and I have not checked the relays yet. With how the fan motor feels I’m assuming the motor is cooked. Lucky my fan blade is fine since that seem to be a headache to deal with.

Brad, do you know if both fans should kick on when the ignition is turned on. All I have is the passenger side fan spinning.
I'm running PiMPx so I don't remember what the OEM ECU does on start-up. I'd test the fan with 12V, easy to do. Then the fan relay. Finally, check the ECU command (but that seems unlikely if your temp sender is working).

Find the jumper diagram for the diagnosis check in the FAQ here for the KOEO.  It will run the relays for the whole car and you can monitor if the motor is getting power.
Motors should still be available for the fan most any auto parts store.  As Jeff already mentioned it is a pretty straight forward swap.
On my 87 TC with 2 fans the passenger side come on first when hot, the drivers side comes on if the temp goes up higher. Each fan has it own temp setting.
