I have been having a hell of a time installing the Stinger FMIC on my 88. The issue is not knowing how far from the top of the radiator support the FMIC mounts. Does anyone have a nice front view pic of one installed without the front bumper in the way? My dilemma is, if I make up brackets to hold it and get them all welded up, how do I know if they are the correct length? I tried twice now to mock it up with a jack holding the inter-cooler, but it just doesn't seem to line up correct. Hope someone can help out. Thanks
Make you brackets out of cardboard or wood to test it out?
That is a great idea, working it with cardboard should work out pretty good. Thanks for the idea

make 2 so when I do this next year!  Smile
I used some L bracket framing metal from Lowe's, 2" wide and cut and bent them 6 1/2" to form a Z.

I also installed a BOV between the turbo and FMIC which allows more room between the FMIC and radiator. I left the nose on and just removed the hood support bracket and dropped the FMIC down in front of the radiator. Had to cut the bottom half of the bracket to clear the FMIC.

Jake, thanks for the pics, 6 1/2 seems about right. I knew that the intercooler inlet and outlets were below the bumper shocks. Did you use any brackets on the bottom of it as well? I also love your PCV catch can, I have run many of my old turbo cars like that!
I can get my small finger between the shock and FMIC as for bottom brackets I've haven't done them yet. I did have to use a smaller overflow tank under the battery, tilt the power steering reservoir back a little and use a smaller battery cause I use a second BOV at the throttle body FYI.

I have a catch can too but a plastic oil bottle works so goooooooooooooood LOL !
