Hello! I have been slowly restoring an 87 turbo that i bought from my grandfather. The tbird sat from 2009-2018 when i bought and since then we have isolated a few issues. The engine hasnt been started since 2009 so any advice in preparation for starting it up again would be helpful. The back drivers side brake caliper also needs to be rebuilt. Other than some minor upkeep i think it should be fine.

Welcome Mark from another PA member.  The folks on this site are great and can help you through everything you need.  They helped me out alot with my '88 when I had questions and were a great group at the Carlisle show too.  I'm hoping to bring my '85 back from a long slumber also but I'm thinking of going a little more radical with it possibly so a tear down will probably happen prior to it seeing any street time.

New fluids, hoses and drop and dump the gas tank would be #1 on my list of places to start.  I'd probably lightly WD-40 the cylinders and roll it over with the plugs out by hand at first and then use the starter to exercise it some more.  But definitely get the fuel system clean before starting it up, you don't want to pump any old varnish through the fuel system to the injectors.

Again, just my initial thoughts.  These folk will guide you right.
