I can't find my Haynes manual but it's not usually a whole lot of help. Been through my Chilton's manual but couldn't find anything.
Behind the headlight switch I found a rubber hose. I assumed if it was supposed to connect to something it would be somewhere around where that hose could reach but I don't see anything.

It could be the hose for the cruise control that hooks up to the brake pedal switch at the top of the pedal, or it could be the hose that hooks up to the back of the instrument cluster for the turbo boost gauge. It is hard to tell from the photo.
I've never had any problems with the boost gauge or with the cruise control.
I'm digging through boxes right now trying to find a part, just happened to notice this hanging off the back of this spare set. It's definitely the same hoes but like I said I've never had a problem with my boost gauge. Haven't ran the car since I took things apart yesterday but I don't think I would have pulled it off while I was pulling the switches

I tried a few times but couldn't get that picture to display for some reason. It was a picture of the back of the gauges with the exact same hose coming off the back up the boost gauge. My boost gauge was working last time I drove the car, would there be a second one of these hoses doing something else?

That looks like the hose that operates the turbo boost gauge. But yet, you say it’s not connected to anything...and you also say that the boost gauge works properly.

Yeah everything seemed to be working fine.
Doesn't seem like I'm missing out on things so maybe I'll just leave it the way it is, I know where it is if I need it.
You know I was just thinking I haven't heard the overboost buzzer since I replaced the heater core and had the whole dash apart.
I don't even know where the buzzer is unless it's that baby blue square that looks like it makes sound on the very left side in behind the headlight switches. I do hear the noise sometimes but only very briefly as I'm turning my key towards the start position.
It's not run by a vacuum hose though is it?
Yes, the baby blue thing behind the light switch is the buzzer. It is triggered by the overboost switch, which does have a hose on it connected to the intake. Overboost switch and egr solenoid are both on the firewall side of the pass side strut tower.
Alright thanks Jeff, I'll check that out. Hoping to get back at it in a couple days, should have finished the day I started, instead it's got left for several days.
I don't have an automatic transmission t-bird, but on my Mark VII, there is a vacuum hose that would be running behind the dash that releases the e-brake automatically.
^^^^^ Good thought..... the Tbirds with auto trans were available with the vac operated auto parking brake release also.
