I have a Boport Stage 3 Head with the 2.1 cam that's going on a stock 2.3 turbo engine with stock pistons.

Has anybody ran into valve to pistons clearance issues?

I also read that someone has advance his cam timing by 10 degree's to boost bottom end power. Has anybody played around with that much advanced ?
Have not run that set up, but 10 degrees of advance on a cam seems like too much. That head and cam will be more of the upper rpm range for flow and seems like advancing that much would just negate the bonus. I run a RR in my 88 at 2 degrees retarded to move the band up, this was changed from a 4 degrees retarded and that made a difference. So, my thought is that 10 is too much. But if you want, start with a lower number and work from there, changing cam degrees is not that involved especially if you have one of those lockable cam gears. I run a Ford Motorsports cam gear which I have to take off and move manually for every change, even then, not too difficult. Let us know
Thanks, I have a adjustable sprocket now and tried 10 degrees advance and didn't feel much difference. I was thinking a turbo car would like retarded due to the turbo pumping air into the chamber. I replaced my belt tensioner the other day and need to re-time it cause I think it's off a little.

Sometimes I forget to put the car in neutral and wonder why the engine is hard to turn over LOL !
