I have been adamant about using Non Ethanol fuel in my 88 due to concerns with any Ethanol in older cars. I already never use ethanol in my small engines and my old carbed cars. Problem is, the highest octane for non ethanol around me is only 91, but I can get 93 octane with 10% ethanol in it. With more boost and not wanting any detonation in my 88TC, should I just run the 93 ethanol and or stick with Non 91. I can tell you my old 64 Galaxie with high compression does not like the low octane for sure.
All we have here in all grades of gasoline is E10. I have been running E10 93 octane in my TC for many years with zero issues. Of course, E10 has slightly less energy content per gallon than 100% gasoline, so you may notice a very slight decrease in gas mileage.
Ok nice, I have read that fuel injected cars do not have the same problems that older carbed cars do, so that's reassuring. I still plan to run some non ethanol for the final fill up prior to parking for the winter to prevent any corrosion or separation. Thanks Jeff
Yeah here in Phoenix that’s all we have. They used to have Ethanol in gasoline for only a few months a year, now it’s year-round.

One of the reasons your ‘64 Galaxie isn’t happy isn’t just the lower octane, but also the lack of lead in fuel. I’d love to find another 1970 Olds Toronado like I had in the late 70s (454 cubic inches 4-bbl carb!) but after talking to an owner at a car show a few years ago probably not. The lower octane minus the lead content has made those cars much less fun to drive. It’s possible to get racing fuel and a lead additive to counteract, but the additional cost (and poor availability of stations that sell racing fuel, at least here) make even semi-regular driving in such a vehicle less feasible.
