Hi all,

Looking to upgrade the T3 in my 87 TC sometime in 2019 with a T3/T4 50 trim stage 3 .63 turbo. I believe the waste gate bracket needs modification to work (we might design a universal bracket to solve this issue). Are there any other mods that need to be made or will this bolt right up?

Thanks!
I just did this swap from the IHI on my 88 over the summer, as you already have a T3 yours may need less work. My hybrid turbo had a wastegate on it, but like you stated, I had to get a different mount plate that had some universal slots in it for movement. I also had to bend a new wastegaste rod to work with my actuator and wastegate. I went with new oil feed line from Stinger, easy, and a new drain line from him as well. That was a tight fit, so follow the directions if you go that route. The hose from the VAM still mounted to the front of my turbo inlet with no issues and the VAM is pointed toward the fenderwell opening with a K&N mounted to it with some flexible piping. The ground wire was a little too short to keep, so I snipped it and put it under the washer of the compressor inlet hold down bolts. My Stinger downpipe mounted right up with no issues, and I still have the factory TMIC for now. FMIC this summer. Hope this helps

can you share some pics of the bracket and rod? that'd be appreciated!

I've got a pimp ecu waiting to get installed in 2019 as well so I'll be able to remove all of that VAM junk!
I replaced my IHI with a T3T4 turbo and used Stinger oil drain line.

I bought a -10 45 degree fitting and installed it on the turbo oil drain fitting from Stinger then put the Stinger line on and snugged everything down.

Works great, no clearance issues, everything lines up great and takes seconds to remove or install. Best 20 bucks I've spent.
Andrew, here is a link to the bracket I used, https://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mv...Code=INWGB The car is parked for the winter right now so no pics, but to describe it, it looks like a stretched out "Z" shape. The actuator is between the manifold and the motor mount on the bottom. It is a fairly large actuator so I would imagine a smaller one would fit even better.
