Long story short, one of my I/C pipes blew off today, when it did,my winshield got COVERED with oil.....coming out of the turbo.I spnent all my $$$ getting all the other stuff on the car ready for the trip and I don't get paid again until 2 days before we're supposed to leave for Carlisle.Just not enought time..... [Image: frown.gif] Guess we can add yet another name to the "I'M NOT A FAN OF BAMABEV'S CENTER SECTIONS" list.No problems with boost or oild probs until today, then bang! It's been on there a grand total of 9 months and only pushing 16-17 psi controlled by a Gillis valve too, live and learn I guess.

Apparently 9 months is considered a nice long life for one of these center sections, because I sent Bamabev an E/M asking about any kind of warrantee and here's what I got:

Hello, I don't offer any warranty on the chra's that I sell, however, my supplier gives 90 days. The chra would not be considered defective since It did run for so long and a defective chra would not run at all.

More than often when a turbo fails it is usually is an oiling problem. You can send it in for a determination of what caused it to fail if you would like. Please let me know if you decide to send it in so I can look for it.

If this turbo is having problems getting oil,I sure can't tell by the way is is steadily pumping oil out of the compressor outlet.I just thought I would share this info for anyone who was considering buying one of these.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. What turbo are you running again? T3 or a hybrid? I've got a buddy here in Hilliard who's a turbo guru and can get turbo's and center sections wholesale if I ask nicely.

Also, if you'd like to consider a Holset from the junkyard or something, there are some guys on the net who makea turbine housing that allows you to run a stock down pipe and all, all you need is modifications to the front of the turbo, just clocking it I think.

PS, if you put "www" in front of it, it doesn't work...
Man sorry to hear. I hope there isn't any kind of pre-carlisle trend going on here for you guys (knock on simulated wood grain laminate).

Seems to me they should at least be interested if they have a product that fails early regardless of warranty. Makes me wonder if they've gotten other complaints.
