Greetings all,

I finally decided to get off my lazy but and put my Turbo Coupe back together.

Long story. Something was humming on the bird (manual trans and something from the clutch plate, etc) plus it started leaking oil pretty bad and I drove it to Menards or Mills Fleet farm and when I left it wouldn't start. So I got her home and decided to pull the motor and get her cleaned up. Found out the valve cover gasket was where the leak was and the engine ran smoothly so I replaced all the gaskets, I think the clutch plate was bad so I replaced that and the weekend I was to put it back in my son was born the previous Friday. Needless to say the little boy sure eats up alot of time so it wasn't til he was about three that I could trust him outside with out much supervision (running to the street, playing in the front yard and visiting neighbors etc) and I started the process of putting it back together. Doing most of the work by myself I got the shaft and transmission lined up and got the engine in place. Winter arrives. Next year I start putting things here and there but just lazy plus so many other projects around the house (redo the basement bathroom, build a shower and tile it, finished my BA in Information Security so needless to say I didn't have much time. This year I finally started putting the everything back together and am looking for a little expertise since I don't recall everything that is plugged in together. Normally I just look for male and female connectors and match them up but not working to well this time.

Got most of it together but the vacuum line from the EC3 valve goes where?

Not sure what you mean by the EC3 valve.... there is no such thing on any TC or any other Ford for that matter. Can you post a picture of the valve?

Jeff. I put it on the facebook page since this wouldn't let me put up a picture. Also there's a lose "ground" in front of the radiator on the right side. Where does that connect up to as well?

Ken sorry for the slow response. You need to use the passwords in the email from the treasurer either when you joined or with each renewal. It you don't have any contact Paul the Treasurer for a reissue.

James see http://turbotbird.com/faqs/Vac_Diagram.htm, What you are calling "EC3" is part of the EGR system. The vacuum line from the valve on the upper intake runs to the EGR solinoid on backside of the passenger side strut tower.

Thanks. But my vacuum chart isn't matching that diagram. Should it be exactly that?

Also added some pictures for the grounds. The one should be frame/engine but the front LH fender but I didn't find anywhere for it to mount. FAQ only gave a rough area.

The vac diagram is nearly correct for 87-88 TCs. One minor change is the right of the diagram, green (CC) vac lines..... The yellow "T" shown in the diagram is actually a T vacuum check valve. Other than that, the diagram is correct.

What about the ground that is supposed to be attached to the LH front fender? Do you have an idea of where it's supposed to be attached? It has a l type bracket that I presume is attached to some accessory and then the wire is attached to the body.

That cable went to the starter. Should the starter have two cables (one positive and one negative). I am not seeing the other cable so I need to figure out where that is located.
