ok, the 87 is needing some brakes. It has some light throbbing at the pettal when stoping slowly. First topic, do i turn rotors that have 140,000 miles on them or just replace with new units. Second, i want some good but cost effective pads for the front and rear. What have you all been using? here is what ive found so far.

Reybestos PG plus organic
napa metalic tru-stop or safety stop
I used napa pads for the front and rear. I run my brakes hard very hard. In fact the other day they were so hot going to a fire call they were smoking. Ive got about 16,000 miles on these pads and the backs are like new with the fronts showgn wear. I bought the best napa pads could get, the total cost was about 70 bucks.
Another vote for the NAPA premium pads. I run them hard as well, they have done MANY tripple digits stops and slow downs.
ok napa premium pads front and rear, new front rotors from napa also, and turn rear rotors.. that sound like a plan?
Big Thumbs Up for the NAPA parts. I found the front rotors for (I think) 50 ish... (heck I posted about it a while ago) and it had the ABS ring.
Long story short, the rotors were at least 20-30 cheaper than anywhere else, were the TC specific part w/ABS *and* were not a cheap knock of casting from far far away.
Take a guess where I go for my rotors for all of my cars now ?
Added thought, all of the weird exotic ceramic/diamond/kryptonite/naquida pads I have tried seem to generate sooooo much heat then end up warping whatever I put them on.
IMHO, unless you are auto-crossing, racing, or have a highly modified braking system, just a normal pad works just spiffy. Of course if you are into the aforemention activities, you most likely have significant upgrades to the braking system anyway.... or you most likely should....
well buying the rotors is going to put me in a money crunch... ive narrowed the pad selection down to either napa tru-stop or advance auto wearever silver.. both are semi metalic
Anyone have any other suggestions?
