As some of you may have noticed...I missed Carlisle this year. And those of you who saw me last year probably noticed that my car was really starting to show some wear. So in typical Andy fashion I took the whole dang car apart.

I planned ahead with a used set of doors and strut towers and a replacement core support to deal with what I thought was all of the rust on the car...boy was I wrong about "some rust"

The rot goes all the way back to the a-pillar...eek...

And on the right side fender apron someone did some very "high quality" repairs

So needless to say there was no sense in trying to fix all that. There's also some quarter panel rot and some under the truck floor.

But in good news, this tbird came up on craigslist about an hour from me

Just purchased it for a very fair price. Some surface rust but all the sheet metal is still present! Just looks like it needs an engine and transmission and some odd ball parts. Also, the clear coat is starting to flake so we're probably talking paint too.

But on the plus side I have a fantastic grey parts car...

The new car is white with a porn red interior, not super excited about either color but they've kinda grown on me. This thing literally has every option except for leather.

Let me know what you guys think!

Looks great, Andrew! As long a it is structurally intact, everything else is "easy".

I have a white one and while it wasn't my favorite, it grows on you. I haven't had a porn red yet. The white looks good with the actual dark blue interior but those are kind of hard to find. Hang in there and you will have what you want in a little time.
RocketShip, good to see another Turbo Coupe in NY. I'm in the Syracuse area and generally scan the list to look for parts and such. I was looking for a long time to find a solid rust free 87-88 and finally found one last fall in the Utica area. The NY salt does wonders for our cars.
Congrats on the new bird!

Kuch, my 88 is in Lowville being stored. Hope to bring it out and over to Rochester this summer Smile
