Does anyone know whether the Luk 07038 clutch kit is 8.875" or 9.25"?
brian,i can`t tell you the size but i will tell you i purchased a clutch kit-flywheel,pressure plate, disc, and slave cylinder for a 2005 mustang 4.0 litre and everything as a package was under $300.00 and i bought it thru amazon. everything was a-1 and made the replacement easy as pie. not having to resurface the flywheel made it a very quick job!!
See questions and answers at bottom. Don't know whether to believe it or not??

Get hold of BJL. He reports having a LUK in his 87 driver in 4/12

This place says 8-7/8" but says it for an 86 TC, same P/N for an 88

When I replaced my clutch assembly a couple of months ago, I went with a PowerTorque kit from O'Reilly's. It was around $100 with a lifetime warranty (NAPA'S is only 1 year), and included release and pilot bearings.

AND, it was...9".
Thanks, fellas. I guess I'll probably get that one from RockAuto. We don't have O'Reilly's here. This is for a stock car anyways so I'm not too concerned with holding power.
My TC is stock as well. I'm not promoting O'Reilly's...but I was very surprised how much "beefier"--more heavy duty, sturdier and better put together--theirs was over the NAPA one I had in there.

Here's some pictures. If it's not obvious, the NAPA one is dirtier and has wear on the pressure plate disc. The O'Reilly's one has bigger/sturdier rivets, thicker gauge metal...and the pressure plate disc is about a quarter inch thicker than the NAPA one.
