Ive had a problem with my passenger door lock for a while, first it started where i had to flip the door lock a few times to get it to work right, then that stopped working and i had to do it manually, now it wont even move manually. I took off the door panel off today and took a look no matter what the rod wont move (lubed it to death). Cant seem to get the three bolts off that hold the door latch on without an impact. I know its not either one of the switches, cause rod wont even budge, any suggestions.

Is the problem with the actuator (electrical) or the actual lock cylinder and linkage (mechanical)

The electric actuators have an annoying habit of going bad, but the good news is that with some time, it may be repaired.

So... which one do you think ?
Its mechanical for sure, i just took off the switch from the passenger side and tested it on the driver, it worked just fine. Its the rod thats attached to the knob that wont move up or down. While i was at it i ditched those storage pockets. Doesnt look to bad without and i dont have to worry about ppl scraping there shoes against them everytime they get in the car.

Well, actuators I can help.... mechanicals others would have to help, sorry
You can buy new actuators here. It sounds like your door lock actuators are frozen. You can also mess around with them, or get j/y parts that will go bad again in a few months.

Well that is an excellent price (best I saw thus far)....

Assuming this is a reliable vendor, may want to place in the vendor section.

heck $39 for a new beats the 1-2 hrs I take to disasemble and repair an old one.

FYI most that I have seen fail due to two reasons, high resistance between brushes and armature, and one of the two rivits holding the power pins breaking off. The fix is a .23 cent minature screw and cleaning the brushes and armature (they are both copper)
