Hi Everyone,

I was just wonder what is the best way to remove the belt moldings without messing them up? The bolt on ones are obvious but the stick on ones on the doors and fenders are the what I'm concerned about. I was going to try and heat them up a bit with a heat gun and try to use fishing line between the body and molding to work them off? Is there a better way?

Heat and a relatively thin wire. I dont think fishing line will be strong enough.

I know I've used the second smallest guitar string to remove windshields. For what your wanting to do the high "E" string would probably work too. I had problems using it on windshields because it broke when pulling hard.

I've used the thin green gardening wire. Have a helper for the long pieces. Keeping it real flat as it come off and in storage is critical

I used a molding removal tool after heating them up with a heat gun. The tool is available at any Harbor freight and attaches to an air hammer. It removes them easily and they do not get damaged. It also does not take long to do. Storing them flat is key though. I have a spare set in the attic stored flat, just in case.
