Well sort of, I just got a email last night of the 2015 mustang. One power plant option is a 2.3l turbo four. I haven't seen any official numbers but so far I'm hearing 305hp. I found a cutaway for the new 2.3 and it looks very similar to the older 2.3. Just seeing what everyone thinks about it. I'm sure somebody that had the money will think about setting the new 2.3 turbo into there turbo coupe, Fox body mustang, or ranger.
I'm sure someone will do it.
The "new" 2.3 is a member of the Duratec engine family. 16 valve, DOHC, with VVT. I am electrical guy, but I shudder at the thought of trying to interface the Ford OBDII PCM you would need to run the engine correctly with the TC harness. Yes, a standalone PCM could be used, but interfacing with the VVT would likely be a headache. I am also guessing its a GDI engine, meaning the fuel system would need to be redone, and interfacing a standlone to run the GDI would likely be a pain. In other words a good project for someone with an infinite amount of time and money!
project ugly horse from auto week has been working on a fox mustang

I read up a little on project ugly horse and while it is a new ecoboost engine. It is a 2.0L from a originally front wheel drive car. I'd like to see the new 2.3L ecoboost swapped into a Foxbody.
In one of the above posts the new 2.3 was referred to as a DOHC duratec.
Does that mean that it is a Cosworth engine?
Ron
From what I've found, the New ecoboost 2.3 has no relation to the cosworth engines. There are however design cues of the Lima 2.3, but in all reality it is a completely new engine.
^^^ +1

No relation to the Cosworth. The DOHC 2.3 is a member of the Ford modular engine family that includes the 1.6T, 2.0, 2.0T, 2.3, 2.3T I4 engines, the 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 3.5T, 3.7 V6 engines, and the 4.6, 5.0 V8, and the 6.8 V10. I might have left out a few duratec engines.
Can anoone post pictures of the new 2.3 engine?
