Is there a web location where I could get production numbers on the turbo coupe? I would like to know how many 5 speed turbo coupes were produced in 1986.
Thanks
Dave
Production #s: http://www.turbotbird.com/faqs/tcprodnumbers.php

I've never seen hard numbers on the transmission. All I have ever heard is manuals trans (Cs) were a certain percentage of ALL tbird production for a given year and that doesn't give me the warm fuzzies. I'll have to see if I can find the percentage number
Thanks Pete, Not sure why I couldn't find that, I was at a show this past weekend and was asked about production numbers and I couldn't answer.
Let me know if you find the percentage that were manual transmissions.
Thanks.

Dave, I did find some info on the number of manual transmissions, by year and it appears to be more reliable than what I expressed earlier. The source is here http://jrthecar.com/articles/Aero-BirdFA...statistics which is on one of our member's web server. We "salvaged" the article years ago when we feared the original site might be taken down and the information lost.

Anyway the number of manual trans TC, by year, I calculate as follows:
1983 - All TCs were manual - 12566 cars

1984 10744 M/T out of 14677 TCs

1985 12148 M/T out of 20804 TCs

1986 13775 M/T out of 21575 TCs

1987 15376 M/T out of 23833 TCs

1988 22675 M/T out of 37252 TCs

How about the awesome 84-86 XR7?

Travis
Total Cougar production: Total Production 1983: 75,743 1984: 131,190 1985: 117,274 1986: 135,904.
I know that is not what you want but it's all I'm finding so far.

Sent by an owner and former member to me in late 2009:
"The book "Mercury Cougar 1967-1987" by Gary Witzenburg, lists both XR-7 and total Cougar production."

The XR-7 figures were posted on our message board, probably the last quarter of 2009. Unfortunately the links to that post at no longer good and I'm having trouble finding the posters username or email so I could to do a search. I've been through several pages of Google search also without much luck. If anyone finds anything, please post it and a link to the source.
The poster of the XR-7 figures was BCA. That may help in a search
