It's the age old question that usually has a very simple answer, but i am having a hard time searching the boards because "8 psi" is too short of a search entry. My 87 5 speed is maxing out at 8 psi even with the premium switch engaged. The light is on the switch so i know it's getting power but possibly not functioning... Someone mentioned a way in a previous thread where you can bypass the solenoid or disconnect the sensor to test and make sure the turbo is functioning properly, i was curious if someone could point me to that thread possibly?
Did you try searching "low boost", "boost problem", "premium switch", and stuff like that?
If your car is an automatic, It won't make over 10 psi stock setup.
The boost gauge is not known for accuracy. You can disconnect the hose going to the waste gate actuator and give it a quick ride. NOTE there is now nothing limiting boost, it can overboost in a flash. Be prepared to get your foot out of it real quick or you could blow a head gasket or far worse.
Yes and found the post about disconnecting knock sensor. No dice :/ it has no boost til 2500 then 8 hthe rest of the way

It's a 5 speed manual
double post sorry!
The BCS must be bad or stuck. Time for a Gillis!
good deal or should i get a gillis elsewhere?

That looks like a new and improved version of the original Gillis valve. I would get that one.
It is Rics new version. Check out boostvalve.com
In my opinion...you either have a bad wastegate on the turbo...
Or you cat is plugged...

But either way you need a gillis valve...every turbo car in the world needs one..
