Well i believe that my cylinder head is warp but im going to have it tested for any cracks and wrapage and have it shaved right away too. How much more performance can it give you? Thanks Jeff
Using a turbo kind of changes the game plan when it comes to compression ratio. It you shave the head, you raise the compression ratio which in turns lowers the amount of boost you can run under any given set of conditions. The thinking is that you can make more HP with boost than you can with comprssion (as a general rule of thumb) Compression does help HP and it will give better low and mid response, even in off boost situations, but as it increases, the amount of boost that can be run, before detonation sets in, is reduced.
Is it worth doing it?
my opinion is if the head doesn't need it don't do it. If it need it do it only enough to get it flat.
thanks pete it helps
