car sat for a couple years. I ran it once and a while in that time, but I decided to put it back on the road and now the brake pedal is hard to push. Calipers aren't froze up and I've checked some vacuum lines. I have some brake but it is beyond hard to push. My rear brakes seam to work fine because the e brake engages and disengages perfectly fine. What is the deal? When I ran it yesterday and parked it, the front brakes seamed warm but, the rear was cool to the touch. Both of the brake warning lights on the dash are on. Any help on this would be appreciated.
Do you here a buzzing from under the hood when the key is turned to RUN. If not, the brake booster pump probably isn't running and they may be a simple relay problem. The relay is the front one of two under the black cover directly below the vacuum tree. For diagnosis refer to: http://www.turbotbird.com/techinfo/TEVES...%20TCs.htm
Thanks for the info again Pete. I'm going to check it tomarrow.
Relays seam to be fine. Brakes still messed up.
Did you look through all the diagnostics in the article I linked?
I'm still going through it. It's just being a pain. But that is what I get for letting it sit for four years.
I guarentee that the tech article Pete linked to will find the problem.
It ended up being the relay after all. I printed out the tech article and I have it in the glove box of the car. I changed the relay first after starting this post. Then read the article, So I checked the motor with the jumper wire and it worked. I took the new relay back and got another one and BAM, I have brakes. MANY THANKS PETE, and thank you Jeff for backing it up. I am also married to my TC once again!!!!!
