So I did the search for lowering spring for my `88 and was wondering if there is any new advice to doing this.
There were conflicting answers on using Mustang springs as in ride quality so I guess my question is who make the best aftermarket springs that will lower the car but still maintain a decent ride.
I know that they make progressive springs now a days that will give you a firm but not a stiff ride.
Any suggestions??
My SN-95 springs have a factory feel to the ride,sat the car lower,and were a simple swap.....and they are cheap everywhere.
Ok, so I have a few choices here.
One is from a 96? but have 130K on them.
One thing , will just using the springs with out the cotrol arms work?If so, how much will they lower the car just using the springs?
I found C arms off a 2000 with only 5K on them.
I can get the whole works for $100.
O,, also the springs are from a GT.
Are these the one's or what mustang should I look for? Base? or GT?
Mustang site says that the spring rates are:
Base Frt:400 Rear:190
GT Frt:450 Rear:210

My springs came from a base model car.They will work fine without the control arms.I just swapped the control arms because it was easier than replacing the bushings in the originals,and,I had to replace the ball joints anyway.The GT springs should work just as well.
No problem.Grab the isolators with the springs as well if they are in good shape.
I used 1999-2004 mustang gt springs. it dropped the rear so that 225.60.16 tires were just inside the lip of wheel wells.the front however left 1.5 gap between the front fender and 225.60.16..i then cut off 1 coil off front spring. this put the tire just inside of the front wheel well.this gave it a level stance.now the 225.60.16 look a little large with the lowered stance and im contemplating putting 215.60.16 or 245.50.16 on factory snow flakes. the 225.60.16 just rub a tiny bit at full turn on inside.
If the tires rub,go to Ford and get some steering limiters.They are really cheap and just snap on to the inner tie rod limiting it's travel.
