I was at canadian tire yesterday looking for some duplicolor to match my car and couldn't seem to find the right color. I found one called "Ford Silver Charcoal" and it looks close to the same but i'm not sure if it's the one. I try'd the duplicolor website but it only goes back to 1990. Can anyone tell me the silver color used on 87 turbo coupes?
Not sure if this would help, but thought I'd post it for ya.

Yes that does help. The ford color code on my car is "14" so it looks like "Silver Metallic" should be the one. Thanks.
Never saw that before. Nice of them to list the info like that.
Well i went to canadian tire and bought some duplicolor "Silver Metallic" paint and it doesn't match my car, it's too dark. So i went back and asked if they had touch up paint for ford paint code 14, the guy looked it up and in his book it says "Charcoal Silver Metallic". So i bought some of the charcoal silver metallic and it looks much closer then the silver metallic. The color cap on the "Silver Metallic" is lighter then the "Charcoal Silver Metallic" color cap, but it drys quite a bit darker then the "Charcoal Silver Metallic", i find it strange that the charcoal silver metallic is lighter then the silver metallic.
Coolcats.net is a great place for information. I have found a bunch of useful stuff out there. I bounce around between sites, and between this one, coolcats, and foxtbirdcougarforums.com, I have found all the info and parts that I need.
One major thing to remember: there were some colors on Turbo Coupes that were not on any Cougars. I don't have the TC color codes listed on my site as a result. Also, some colors with the same code have different names depending on the sources.

I can't explain your color differences, other than the usual time/sun fade thing. All things being correct, the paint code listed on your door tag should be what's on your car, if it's never been repainted.
