I have a pair of 3" Dynomax turbo mufflers setting in the garage. I have a friend that can bend the pipe for the cost of the materials. My question is, is a 3" dual too much or should I stick with a 2 1/2" dual system? The car is stock so far, but I do intend to do modifications in the future.
No such thing as too much [Image: biggrin.gif]

The lower the backpressure the better with a turbocharger; I have read that it's difficult to get past eveything with 3" pipes, though. It was hard enough putting in my ATR 2-1/2" setup that was premade.

But free? Go for it! HTH.

I've installed dual 2 1/2" systems, and a single 3" system on various cars over the years. I'm sure dual 3" can be done, but it is going to be REALLY tight on the passenger side.

If you look under the car, there is less room beside the gas tank on the passenger side. I suspect the pipe would need to come down further on that side. The drivers side can be nicely tucked in there, and looks okay from the outside.

Ditto on that right side for 3 inch. I am running 2 1/2 inch back and there was an interference point on the right side where they had to flatten the pipe some to get the necessary clearance.

I thought of that this morning after the post last night. I'm fairly certain it is a mandrel bend but don't know 100%.
Within the last month I finished my exhaust...3" high flow cat to a 3" inside bullet with twin 2 1/2 outlets and ran the pipes in front of the rear wheels...no pics yet...camera died...the muffler is in the middle below the prop shaft and the pipes exit between the floor brace and the floor...tight fit with no rattles...

You are going to love the the pull with a 3" system.
what about a 3 inch system that splits to 3 inch duals. like the stock system only with 3'. i was thinking ethier using a single in dual out muffler. if i decide to go any muffler at all. i would get a high flow cat. ( no emisions test in MI) YAY!
