I know that cleaning/polishing the headlight lenses is not a permanent fix, but wow did it work well on mine. They were not as bad as I thought. I'm wondering though what to use on the reflective surface. Mine is pitted and corroded. I used duplicolor's chrome on a corner lense but it ended up looking like buffed aluminum, not the reflective silver I'd like in a headlight. Now that the lenses are clean I'd like to resurface the inside (you can see the discoloration through the lense).
I don't think? I have heard of a good way to refinish the reflector surface.
And that is???
We'll see how it turns out, but from the craft section in Meijer (I'm sure Walmart would have it too) I found some silver paint for mirrors. It is drying now and looks like it will be better than how it was but it won't be a "perfect" surface.
Post some pics if you can.
Ok they are all dry now and look much improved. They were pretty bad before I started. The reflective surface now is not mirror like, but I don't have the pits and discoloration I had before. I used Krylon silver metallic found in the craft section of a Meijer store. Its a small spray bottle 8 oz. They won't be like new headlights but look like they will be much better than before, especially with the polished lenses. I didn't take any before pictures (camera had dead battery and I wanted to get started).

Here's what they look like now:

I wonder how well that could be polished.
check out www.headlightwarehouse.com new headlights at about $90 each. WELL worth the money
I gave them several coats and almost duplicated the mirror finish. That pic above was after first coat.
As good as new? Not quite. Better than before? Most definately. Cost - approx. $10. for sandpaper, paint, and plastic polish.
