Cylinder head bolts.I thought they were 14mm,but I ended up stripping one.Is there a special socket ? I never attempted this before.
I hve had this problem also do not worry. Go to sears and pick a set of back out tools. They are sockets that have fins on the inside. A little hint use some pblaster fluid and a little heat it wiil work.
i my were 14mm. never had a problem stripping them out. I would suggest to use a bigger racther and when you are tring to turn give it a smack with a rubber mallet like you would a screw. If not then the backout works wonderfull
correct me if Im wrong, but I thought they were 12 or 13mm 12point.
Depending on the car i belive 85-87 were 13mm, my 88 was forsure 14mm i dont know why the different size's maybe pete should chime in and tell us all why
A 12 point 13 MM.(88 TC) Holy $9.00 @ SEARS Batman !!!
My '83 and an '87 that I just pulled the head off of both had 13mm 12 points. I thought I was going to break the socket trying to loosen the exhaust side. Lost some skin, but the Craftsman socket held.

Good brand tools are priceless!
Sorry to be so late on this. I've only done 87-88 heads and those bolts were all 12 point, 13mm.

I agree, good tools are priceless.
