So I had the clutch done about 863 Miles ago. It grabbs great, shifts smooth, but again, I have a problem.

The chirping is driving me NUTS!!! It started after about 100 miles and has progressively got worse as ive put miles on it. Along with the Chirp, it also now rattles at times while idling. And as always, press the clutch slightly, and it all goes away. I gave it some time to seat proporly, but it hasnt obviously. SO.... I'm SOL I guess. I know, I know, I can spray some lube on the fork to quiet it down temporarily, but i want a permanent fix. The TOB is new, the Pilot bearing is new. the input shaft sleeve is smooth without grooves and burrs, and pretty much everything is new. Except that damn clutch fork. Also, everything including the ball stud was proporly lubed with a good moly grease to prevent other noises....

Any Ideas?? Its going back in on Wed. to get back on the lift for troubleshooting and hopefully a fix...so any suggestions will help. Thanks...and yes, I already searched this. Are the clips on the fork actually neccisary, or are they just for holding the TOB during the intallation process? My mechanic cant recall if they were actually present, but he said that the forked looked to be in very good shape.
My previous 88 did the same frickin thing. The tranny shop said there was nothing they could do about it.I just put a Krokus tape in,turned it up,and ignored it.
Was the chirping there with the old clutch?

They are there to hold the TO Bearing as well as keeping it from rattling. Fair chance that is where the chirp is also
Crap. Well..... Id did chirp berfore the new clutch, but its actually worse now than it was with the old one!! This is rediculous. Any suggestions or ideas, since new clutch forks have gone the way of the dinosaur?
i know excactaly what that is it took me forever to figure it out its the pilot bearing i bought on and it was jusdt a bronze bushing and i didnt grease it properly so i went an got a nother one it was a roller bearing type put it in with some grease and havent heard a chirp since look for a roller type pilot bearing i found mine at autozone
is it possible that maybe you didnt line up the flywheel to the disc? i really dont know if it would make a difference though?
My 87 TC had the same cricket chirping problem. It went away when I installed the new clutch and flywheel, believe it was the throwout bearing.
Clutch was done by a reputable shop with many years of experiance changing mustang/t-bird clutches. Its a Hi-po speed shop specificly for SHO's and Mustangs. Granted, that doesnt mean it wasnt screwed up by them. I'll check the pilot bearing again when its out on wed.
Mines doing it bad, I have a straight exhaust coming out in front of both rear wheels, with no cat, and the chirping is annoyingly audible over the exhaust. The disc, PP, TOB, and pilot bearing have 5000 miles on them now.
