Well new guy...have you search the FAQ...lots of good info there.... what do you want to do with the car.

Travis
Well it will be a daily driver in my whopping 20 mile round trip commute. I am very familiar with the 2.3 as we have run them in our circle track for years. But im new to the turbo world and am jumping in with both feet because i bought this TC for the motor to put in a sandrail and a friend has another TC motor allready put in a BAja Bug project.
i would start with a boost controller (either Gillis or homemade so you can run 17-18lbs of boost, a homemade cold air kit, and possibly a Blow off valve or by pass valve to protect the turbo. alot of good information can be found under the tech articles (found on the top of the home page) it is listed under "beginner mods for Horsepower. i hope this helps!
Hello and welcome. This article is about the mods to start with. http://www.turbotbird.com/techinfo/Mods/Mods01.htm
Thanks guys i found that minutes after posting my question...
Welcome, and don't forget the exhaust. I bought a Stinger's 3" to dual 2.5" and I think that was the most noticible thing I have done. The Gillis valve was good but oh that exhaust. The spool up time is so different. I live on a dirt road and I can't keep it straight because of it spinning. If I got on it hard I couldn't keep it on the road. And I've been driving on these roads for many, many, many years(old fart).
The exhaust is an expensive investment. i think i have all of 50 bucks into my boost controller and cold air kit.

Hey 87Turbobobby is there anyway you could post a sound clip of your exhaust, i am very interested to see what it sounds like. I plan on putting the same system on next month.
I did the Stinger 3" to 2 1/2" duals on Magnaflows. That was the best upgrade so far to compliment the other mods I have done. The magnaflows will make the exhaust sound a little bit louder but not by much at all.
Another vote for exhaust. It will make the most power of any mod on a stock car. Is is a good idea to upgrade to a free flowing straight through exhaust before you up the boost. More boost through the stock exhaust will put alot more stress on the head gasket. Also a good tune up is somthing not to overlook. Search on that too.
