When I put my single 2.5 exhaust on my T/C,I bought a Dynomax ultra-flo welded muffler, sounded great. So here it is,not even a year later,I noticed an exhaust leak.I thought one of my clamps had come loose,I could hear(and smell) the exhaust ecscaping under the car.Upon inspection,I noticed on the front and rear of the case, right where the inlet and outlets are attached to the case, they were broke off almost completely around, looks just like the seam or however they are joined together, came apart.I thought at first it may have been the welds, but it is behind where the welds are, directly on the faces of the case.Has anyone had this problem before,or did I get the runt of the litter that day?I put this stuff on last July, then drove the car until January, then it sat in the garage til April before I got it back on the road (bad clutch+bad IHI + no job= UGLY situation!)so it really doesn't have that many miles on it,3 or 4 thousand I would say. When I did the exhaust,my 3" DP didn't come with a hanger on it,so I had one welded on to hang it from the factory hanger on the tranny X-member.I have another hanger on the muffler mounted to the stock point on the floorpan, and I have another hanger welded to the tailpipe. All with rubber insulated mounts so they are not rigid,so I would think that I have it supported properly.I E/M"d Dynomax a couple weeks ago to explain my situation to see if maybe I could get at least partial condsideration on a new muffler, but got no response.Only catch is now I have taken it to a shop and had it MIG welded, the sound and fumes were getting BAD and they probably will tell me they want to see it.I would like to use one of there mufflers again due to the straight through design, great sound and, aside from the obvious, good construction.So....anyway,should I just suck it up and use this as incentive to do that much needed upgrade to full 3" exhaust,or try and get some kind of response from them?I'm just looking for opinions mostly,I just was thinking that my $70 muffler should last a little loger than a year is all.

Too much fun, what's that mean? That's like too much boost, there's no such thing.

Super Turbo's have a life time warranty, however the Ultra's don't (if I remember right). If you have your original receipt or can prove when it was installed, I would definitly make every attempt to have them replace it for free or at least half price. If they say no then tell them you are switching brands and will run their name in the ground to every car guy you come in contact with, particularly the 2000 members on our message board. Usually will get you something in return.

Dynamax is a really good company and usually stands behind their products. You might want to try and take the issue up with a local muff shop that sells Dynamax, they might be able to get better/quicker results.

Good luck. This just reaffirms why I'm going to spend the money and get a full SS exhaust next time I have to do mine.
