Does anyone know if the K-member for the 2.3 is the same as the one for the 3.8?
It is the same for a Mustang but I don't know about a Tbird.
Year?
83-85 and 86-88 are the same. if you want to use the old svo/2.3 convertable/chucks 83-85 (recomended!) mounts, use the 83-85.
I'm swapping a SC3.8 motor into an 86 TC shell. Will I need to change the K-Member/mount perches or will the 3.8 drop in with the same perches by just changing the motor mounts?

Thanks,
Joe
Does the SC 3.8 have the same mount patterns as the regular 3.8L? If so, you'll need a set of mounts from a V6 car in the least.
The motor mount part number is the same for the 89 SC and the 86 3.8 so yes, they are the same. I'm just wondering about the perches on the K-member.

Thanks,
Joe
The U brackets on the Kmember are different.

Well at least the driver side is. The pass is the same. You should be able to make any of the 2.3/3.8/5.0 86-88 lower brackets work. The difference is in the offset of the isolator in reference to the through bolt.

On a side note, I will soon be able to offer some of my poly motor mounts that will fit a 3.8 in a 86-88 Fox Wink (For the SC swaps, etc). I'm doing them for the MN-12's but they will work as mentioned. Will have my samples welded in the next week or so.
I've seen numerous statements claiming the '86 K member is the same as the '87/'88. How can this be when the '86 uses the same A-arm as the '85. The '87/'88 have a different, longer A-arm. I know that the '86 arms match the FRRP M-3075-A for the '79-'93 Mustang as I have both in my garage. Is there something I'm missing that would make the '86 K member the same as '87/'88?
Thanks
I'm not verifying the fact that the 86 Kmembers are the same as the 87-88...but the mounts are interchangeable.

I know the overall track width is the same between the 86 and the 87-88's.

AFAIK the control arm mounts are further inboard on the 87-88 cars over the earlier ones...
