***Anyone with a short attention span, click backspace***kinda long story.
The TC I picked up from Jon Moller was torn apart tonight. As I was removing this and that, I was plesently suprised to see that nearly every part I touched was new!...or looked new anyway. Well, I get down to removing the head and I was so anxious to see what went wrong. Yeah, I was thinking a headgasket or cracked head. Well, I didnt even get the head all the way off before I slipped my fingers under there and felt all the piston tops. They all felt perfect! So I continue removing the head and OMFG my heart sank! Theres major damage in cylinder 1, (see pic) the valve seat is just hanging(never seen that before) and the wall is scored. There was NO damage to the headgasket. All the other cylinder walls looked perfect but something I noticed..... all the piston tops are level with eachother. Shouldnt 2 be up further than the other 2? My first guess is a broken crankshaft or #4 threw a rod and piston got stuck in its current position.
Either way, I cant complain. The car was free and its a very decent car! Luckily, a few months ago I picked up a spare motor I planned on doing a 350HP build for the Ranger. Now, its going in the TC. Im thinking this current motor will not be salvagable considering what went on.
Thanks for reading.
