after having the car sit for about 2-3 months, I took it for a drive and by the time I gat to about 5500rpm's I only have about 10psi of boost, I had previously shortened the hoses for the boost controller to clean things up in the engine compartment. Could that have caused this problem? What else could have caused this problem? Thanks

What kind of boost controller? Did you ever get more than 10 psi?
a gillis valve, it's not really limited to 10psi. It just wont spool fast enough, it runs out of rpms too fast. I switched the vam from my parts car onto it (I was painting the bracket), think maybe the vam door is sticking?
Thanks
I think the best thing to do right now is rule both the VAM and the turbo's physical condition out first..

Take the compressor inlet off of the turbo and check the blades for damage and/or shaft play and in/out play. Make sure they don't touch the housing. Put it back together, don't forget the orange ground wire.

Since you're already in there, go ahead and check your VAM door too [Image: smile.gif]

How about it?

well when I put the vam in the door didn't feel like it was sticking and the tension should be correct because it didn't look like it had been opened up before. As far as the turbo goes, It boosted perfect before the car sat. Also, even with it spooling slow, it doesn't make any weird noises. does this sound like a boost leak?
Thanks
I think you are on the right track with a boost leak.
