I finally had some time to work on the car and installed a Gillis valve. My problem is that the boost is not controlling. I keep getting the over boost light. I have an after market boost gauge and the boost goes to 20 #'s even with the ball and spring out of the Gillis valve. I suspect a bad actuator. I'll check it out as per the factory manual. If I find it's bad can I buy just the actuator, where can I get one, is there one that's better than another ? Thanks.

What kind of boost were you getting before installing the valve? It sounds like either the WGA or a leak between the valve and the WGA

Jim, You can test the WGA by applying about 10 psi pressure to it. At 10 psi, +/- 0.5 psi the actuator rod should move 0.015". this is per a booklet originally published by Ford Parts and Service. Not in the book but I observed that by 15 psi (or less) the WG is fully opened.

Pete, when I unhooked the BCS to install the Boost control valve I found the hoses cracked, dry rot, and leaking. When I installed the boost valve I ran all new hose supplied with the new boost valve. I never got an over boost warning before the change over. Now I get it all the time. I e-mailed Ric Gillis and he said to take the ball and spring out and I should get 10 #'s of boost. I still go up to 20 so I back off. I'll double check the hose going to thee WGA and make sure it's not leaking the do the pressure check when I get a chance. If it is the WGA can I buy a new one or do I have to buy a new turbo?
