On the way into work today my TC tranny locked up on me. With further inspection after work the car will not go into any gears while the car is running but will go into all gears when the car is off. So the problem must not be in the tranny but something to do with the clutch. Master or Slave, or what?

Thanks for everyones input in advance, I havent posted here for a while now but my TC is all done and i will post pics and redo my mods list after i fix this problem may also have some grand bend motorplex video for you guys in the next week or so.

Thanks Mat
Forgot to mention its an 88 5spd

Thanks Mat
I had something similar happen. It turned out to be a spring from the PP decided to fall out of place.
Couldn't change gears with the engine running. 5 mile trip home in 2nd gear Big Grin
Your right, but can't tell you if its the slave or the MC. It could also be the TO bearing binding on the bearing retainer.
Ok perfect im going to get it on a hoist tonight so thanks for the input anyone else who wishes to chym in that would be awsome.
Thanks alot!
Mat
The slave rod should extend a minimum of 0.53" when the clutch pedal is put to the floor.

Big whoop, Pete Smile , once about 30 years ago, I had a press plate spring break on me while visiting a friend in St. Louis. I was in college, and had 0$$ to get it fixed there. Drove the 400 mile trip back to Milwaukee with no clutch at all. Started from a stop by cranking the engine in first gear until the car lunged to a start. Shifted up thru the gears by trying to match the RPM and doing lots of gear grinding. Toll booths in IL were a real PITA (starter seriously fried by the time I got home). I still remember that trip home like it was yesterday.
sounds like me when I exploded a clutch in my 89 5.0 mustang when dragracing at earth city MO at WFC 8. had to drive over an hour in STL traffic even at 1AM sucked with starting it in gear and speed shifting.
