I came outside this morning as I usually do to crank it up. Normally I do this about 10 to 15 minutes before I leave for work. Well I went back in and when I came back out my front door
(I cant see the car till I get out to the parking lot)all I see is white smoke. The car smokes on startup. But never this bad! Our whole apartment complex was full of smoke. So I pop the hood and thank God no fire. It was literally bellowing out from under the car. All I could do is laugh! But after 15 of my 19 mile drive to work I came to the first redlight and noticed it was not smoking anymore. I cannot wait till I can file my taxes to get that new head on there! The #3 vale seals must be totally shot. I hope I dont have another cylinder going bad.
I hope it's not the turbo. My SVO looked like a plane spraying for mosquitoes when the turbo went bad. I guess you would have to be from Florida to know what a mosquito plane is but basically there is a lot of white smoke everywhere.
No I know it is not the turbo. I have only put about 4000 miles on the rebuilt one I got in november of last year(2004). I know it is the valve seals, well at least I really really hope it is. Motor has good compression. after you drive it for a while, it quits. Runs like a hippo tho. When I get to do my head swap Im going to replace everything I can. turbo feed and return lines, o2 sensor, manifold to turbo studs, exaust manifold bolts, you get the idea. Hopefully after that I can get 17 psi again, now I can only get 10. Car has a lot of problems. Exaust leaks at elbow to down pipe. I think the exaust manifold gasket is leaking, I heard that ford didnt use one tho, but my car has one. Depending on how much of a headache it is to replace in the car, I need to replace the front seal too! I hope we can get at it, I dont want to pull the whole engine
