OK here's the thing. My car was leaking fuel out of the injector area; the gas was pooling on top of the lower intake manifold.

Yeah I know - not good.

So today I replaced the injector seals, put the car back together, and what do you know, still leaking!

The thing is, it doesn't seem like it's leaking when the engine is running. But when I shut the car off, I can watch the fuel dripping down the front-most injector (only one I can really see). It looks like it's coming from where the injector goes into the fuel rail. Now I replaced the both seals on each injector, top and bottom.

Any ideas? Think there is something wrong with the rail? The fuel systems is stock as far as I know, except it has a 255LPH Walbro pump.

Checking the rail wouldn't be a bad idea. I had one leak on me so they can go bad. Check right where the injector and the pressure regulator fitting welds are. The leak may be hard to spot so look closely for hairline cracks at these points in the weld. Cleaning the rail, if you haven't already, helps as well to spot the leak. Good luck.

Could be a bad injector, the bodies can leak as well....

chaeck to make sure the rail isn't cracked. let me know if you need a rail, i have a coupe of them laying around
Ditto what Chuck said. Had one do that on my '85 a few years back.
Also it's fairly easy to nick the o-rings when installing, which can cause a leak even with new ones. Ask me how I know [Image: redface.gif]

I've had to replace injectors because of leaking injector bodies. There is a circular area on the side of brown-tops that seems to allow some seepage.

Make sure you lubricate the o-rings before you install them.
OK I ordered 4 new GPSorenson injectors (stock replacement). I'm going to clean and check the rail over very carefully while I have it out. We'll see how it goes.

Thanks for the help guys!

What did those run you? I bought a new set on ebay for $160. They were Tomco's. Be sure you lube the orings before you stuff them into the rail. I did not do this the first time around and slightly tore them when I pished them in. Thanks to the Gurus on this bosrd, they suggested I use oil or vasoline on the orings before I installed the injectors. Solved my problem.
