Can anyone suggest a good after-market set of ride-contol struts (prices) for an 88 TC ? Who makes them? How much $$$$ ?
Nobody makes functional ride control struts.
I'm Buying a set of KYB AGX struts, 4 way adjustable. You loose the push button adjust ability, but you have 4 settings.

This part number is for a 1998 Mustang GT, the struts work fine. I actually confirmed this with KYB.

KYB Part # 734014 {Suspension Strut Assembly}
GT; ADJUSTABLE; 2 required per vehicle; Front

Price $138.79 Plus Shipping per unit, at www.rockauto.com

I've read good reviews about them.
Sounds good, I'll check into a pair of those. But if I switch out the fronts and stay with the RC rears, am I gonna get a flashing code telling me my front struts are not functioning.......or should I just plan on switching out all 4? Will the rears still work if the fronts are not connected? Is there a way to fool the system to compensate?
The rears will work just fine with the fronts disconnected. If you put the switch to auto, the light will flash.

I'm planning on a set of Chuck W's shock adapters so I can run the AGX's out back and completely do away with the PRC...since the struts and shocks are no longer available.

I'll probably end up removing all the prc wiring, computer ect and doing some other things like modifying a V8 Tach so I no longer have the light and the boost gauge.
Would a 85-86 tach work....no firm light, more rpms and higher factory boost gauge Smile

Travis

Did you buy them yet?
I'm curious if the adjuster is on the top like Koni's or the side.

I've been looking myself. I've been looking at Koni's and Tokico's. From what I've searched, it sounds like the SN95 struts are the closest to fitting the TC. I'm still looking.
they definitely adjust from the top. i spoke with kyb on this. the rears adjust from the side.
I went with the Strange 10 way adjuatable struts for a sn 95 mustang. I also went with the Strange 10 way shocks for a sn 95 mustang. The rear shocks are shorter and will not work without some CHUCK adapters. Both of the Strange units adjust from the bottom with a knob.
You will need to take your mounting hardware off your factory PRC struts and reuse it to mount your aftermarket struts.
