I think my ruff idling is due to vaccum leaks. Is it possible to jsut bapass the entire vaccum system and plug everything off except fuel pressure and anything essential and see if it runs better? theres so many cracked hoses on my 84 its silly. It might need a complete vaccum transplant!

Also, when i put on my compressor housing i forgot to put in that rubber gasket that goes around it. Can it be leaking around that even though it was a TIGHT fit?
Yes. Remove the line from the upper intake to the vacuum tree at the upper intake and then cap the upper intake port. See if it runs better at idle.
Note: I'm not sure how the brake booster gets it's vacuum. Doing the above may may interfer with the power booster for the brakes. If you drive it test the braking
i dont intend driving it.. i think my break booster might be leaking also.. cause if the motor dies down even the slightest, i loose all my assisted brake power... you cant stop the thing with the motor turned off or idle below 800 rpm... arnt break boosters post to hold anough vaccum to at least stop you once or twice?
Yes the booster should hold some vacuum. Your idle need to be more like 900 to 1000 rpms.

If you have as many vacuum leaks as you say you hae it isn't going to run right until they are fixed. Vacuum leaks can have a big influence on how it runs depending on the severity of the leak(s)
well sometimes it idles at 800 or below then idles at 1200 then lopes like its cammed... theres something up.. and i think its vaccum.. ive replaced and fixed everything else. Im assuming that the break booster can be leaking bad anough to make it idle like shit, but not make any leaking noises...
