I have an 88 Turbo Coupe (ordered it new...has over 250,000 miles on it). Recently encountered VAM sticking fully open with WOT. Have to remove VAM outlet hose and "touch" vane to get it to snap back to closed position. VAM works fine in other than WOT driving. No codes with vane in "normal" position. Tried cleaning VAM. Vane doesn't contact sidewalls, and can't duplicate stuck open condition on the bench by manually moving vane. Only occurs installed, during WOT driving. Local Ford rep's remembered an issue with this, but couldn't remember/find details. Any help would be appreciated...

Maybe it's just plain worn out being as you've logged over 250,000 miles.
