What gasket did you buy? What brand, p/n?
The water holes in the HG are that size for a reason. DO NOT enlarge them to the size of the holes in the block / head. The holes are small to balance out the coolant flow thru the block and head. I dont want to write a 5 page dissertation on the mechanics and thermodynamics of coolant flow to explain the small holes in detail, but take my word... dont enlarge the holes.

its a FelPro 1035, i used to blow apart the felpros, i had soem off brand one in the last head gasket job, it lasted the longest. so if it blows in the next 6 months im either finding a ford or cooper gasket, uhgh, head gaslkets suck!

Did you let it burp itself and then top off the coolant? Got enough coolant in the overflow bottle?

You only need two tools in life; WD-40 and Duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should use WD-40. If it moves and it shouldn't, use Duct Tape.

I asked the same question at the machine shop. They said that the water jackets are restricted to slow down the flow of fluid to give it a chance to cool in your radiator.
