Full Version: Base timing / cam timing

My wifes 85-5spd. is .030 over, zero decked,and blueprinted to NHRA stock eliminator specs. I'm currently running the stock cam staight up with the base timing , it has no other mods, any suggestions on both??? Thanks, Rick B.

You can try a little more ignition advance, say between 11-13. Just check for detonation and if you get any, retard the timing. This works on the stock cars, but since your is zero decked, you might have too much compression.
I haven't played with cam timing for the stock cam so I don't have any insights
