I was at a car show yesterday and saw this Ford T-bucket. I assumed, like most of these, it had a 350 all chromed out with highrise intake and all that. Well, imagine my surprise when I walked around the front and there was a 2.3L Turbo motor. I talked to the owner, who informed me that it was in fact out of an 84 XR7. Just thought Y'all might want to check it out. Hope my picks upload.

WAY cool ... i hate to see chevys in so many ford hot rods. NUTTIN wrong with a chevy. Wouldn't ya love to put a Ford into a chevy !!! I always wanted to drop my BOSS 302 into a camaro . I bet the GM guys would cry a river ! Or a 460 EFI in a chevelle !
Sweet ride. Interesting set up with a draw through.
What is the big red box next to the fire wall on the driver side? Is that a battery box?
Cool...

I saw a 2.3T in a late 40s Thames panel truck, that was also a slick install... To bad I didn't have a camera...
this is close to my dream t bucket. Only mine will have side pods for the intercooler, f=1 front end other cool things like that. But I'm not worried about paint, as Don the snake once said "when it runs it done". This bucket really has a nice finish, thanks for the pics.
My dream is to put one in a Model A or 32 Ford. It will cost at least 15-20K though and that's building it myself. I haven't seen but one 2.3 turbo in a street rod, now it makes two. No doubt by the time I built one it won't be a fresh idea. Cool thanks for sharing.
man i want the intake and the header! im from the younger generation but i can appreciate the work put into that thing! Big Grin
Pete, the cover on the driverside is just a cover for the steering linkage. The battery is located in the back. I really loved this thing. I want to build a 34 ford 5 window with a Built 2.3L turbo putting out about 350 HP. I want to keep fuel injection and just make it a very drivable Hot rod.
Very cool, that's bein different right there.

Only other thing I thought was neat was a guy took a 3.0 Vulcan Taurus engine and had a custom carb intake made for it. So he had a carbed 3.0 sittin between the frame rails. Very cool idea!
