I am planning on an engine swap later this fall. I now have a job that will let me afford some of the luxuries that Ive been wanting to get. I know a guy that has a 2.3 turbo whole engine for sale that will be used as a core. I am not sure what year it is but he said it was running when it was taken out of the vehicle it was in. I want to build a long rod short block because my dad almost has a gm wharehouse in our shed, he can poop 4, 5.7 chevy rods quicker than you can blink an eye. My problem is that I only see him on weekends, so I cannot bench talk him today. What pistons would work with this rod combo. I also have a steel crank on order from a cricle track mini stock. Guy said it has 5 nights on it. My machine shop guy is top notch. I plan on part time street duty. Any suggestions or experiences with this Rotating assembly would be greatly appreciated.
Go the the vendors link at the top of the site and go the the sites for Esslinger Engineering and Racer Walsh. You will find just about any thing for the 2.3 from these guys. Including pistons for uses with the chevy rods.
how much for a set of 4. i want some. are they in good shape?
as for the guy that said the motor ran.good luck. thats what i was told. and the motor had blowen head gaskets. half to take the motor down to make shure nothing was wiped out by water. thats what i get for beleiving in somebodies word!!!!! i know now what to check to make sure i dont get it in the pooper.
The guy im getting the motor from is a reputable source. If he says it ran i believe him, the source he got it from maybe another question.
You really don't want to run 5.7 rods in a turbo motor. The hole for the pin in the pistons will be into the lower oil ring. Not good for forced induction engines.

Our stock crank is strong enough for over 600rwhp.
