I have a 2.3 n/a distributor that is good and has only 74,xxx miles on it. My turbocoupe distributor has a loose module on it and the cap is gone. Can i swap the complete distrubtor from the 2.3 n/a onto the tc or not?
To the best of my knowledge, yes.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanks JoeCool i was thinking the same. Cant see really any differents unless im missing something.
Ive heard rumors about the octane rod being different, but i cant confirm it.
Our distributors don't perform any advance functions, that's all handled by our EEC-IV so I doubt that we have the octane rod. I suspect they are limited to pre-FI carburated distributors, but I've been wrong before. Smile

Please, someone who knows, clue us in!
Octane rods were done away with LONG ago in the early Turbo EFI days. I've read it was a band aid system and nothing more. All the 83+ distributors i've come across have locked octane rods.

BTW, i've used two N/A distributors on my car and haven't had any issues(except with them going bad cause they are all Pre 87 TFIs and PIPs).
My n/a distributor is from a 87 lx i had. I did a turbo swap and traded it to CarCrazyScott i belive thats his screen name[Red 87 notch]
Thanks for the correction of info, i read something about the octane rod, and honestly had no clue, but i wanted to give the food for thought just in case.
I think we all wanted to know; I know I did! Big Grin
