Can i bypass it and how? Mine is leaking but it is summer and the car is about to be my daily driver so if i can get a few months more by taking it out of the loop..
Take the two ends off the heater core and connect them together using a piece of pipe and 2 clamps.
THANKS! I was hoping it was that easy. Is it possible to change the heater core by cutting a hole in the fire wall swapping it and welding the hole back up?
Yes, you can do a hole through the firewall
i really think its easier to just pull the dash.
it takes about 2.5 hours to complete the job by pulling the dash. i did trim the plastic box to make removal of the core easier.
I dont want to pull the dash. My interior is perfect and i dont want to crack my dash.

Any instruction on where to cut? Is it better to weld it back on or to make tabs and bolt it on for access in the future?
Joejo, where did you trim the plastic box, this will be something I have to do soon
If you use a thin strip of metal to spread out the pressure it is easy to remove the speaker grille without cracking the dash.

I actually had this same problem, perfect dash with a leaking heater core. But as long as you are careful throughout the process it should be fine.

I used this stuff to put the speaker covers back on so that it wouldn't be such a nightmare next time.
