Alright guys, I need your help. I just installed my new motor and got it running. But while it's running, I hear this atrotious grinding noise comming from the bellhousing area. Now, it's an 88tc auto, new flywheel, rebuilt stater, almost stock everything else. Please gime what you all have stored up in those heads of yours, I know someone has an answer for me that will fix this.
Wild guess: Torque converter not seated in the tranny properly (tangs not engaging the pump correctly).

if the tangs weren't engaging the pump correctly wouldn't i not be able to have my motor/trans bolted together? i don't know for sure thats why i ask.
it will still bolt together,it just bends the flex plate.
hmm, that wouldn't be too good of a thing considering i just bought the flexplate. ill check what you guys are tellin me as i get time but keep it commin. thanks
